3.1 How Can I Book Tickets?
During the reservation process, several entry forms appear. Here, the user fills in the required data. Generally, you enter the required data or select an item from a drop-down list first, and then you continue by clicking on the confirmation button.
For each step (or form), there is Help available. You can display Help by placing the mouse cursor at ? (question mark) which can be found on the right from the name of the command. Help is displayed in a specific window. This window closes automatically when you move the mouse cursor.
3.2 Entering Departure and Destination
Type the beginning of your point of departure into the entry field “From”. Based on that, the system will be offering you all registered stops in the AMSBUS system. Select the required stop from the list. The system does not differ between upper case and lower case letters. It also takes no notice of diacritical marks. E.g. entering München [*D], munchen, muNChen etc. is considered identical. For multiple word names of stops, a combination of initial letters with spaces can be used – e.g. b re (Bad Reichenhall [*D]), f a m (Frankfurt am Main [*D]), v t (Veliko Tarnovo [*BG]) etc. Use the same steps for the entry field “To” as for “From”. When entering the departure stop (“From”) and the destination stop (“To”), we recommend to enter the name of the municipality only (e.g. Paris). Some buses or trains may not halt at the required stop (e.g. Paris [*F],,rue du Faubourg St.Martin) but they can halt at other stops in the same municipality.
Enter the day, month and year of departure in the field “Date”. To enter the date, you can use the enclosed calendar. Enter hour and minute into the field “Time”, and the engine starts searching for buses or trains operating between given stops from this time on.
Continue by clicking on “Search” button.
The system finds all buses or trains in the AMSBUS database which match the data on departure and destination stops. The buses or trains will be displayed in a list. You can select the required connection from the list by clicking on the “Select” button which is next to the selected destination stop.
3.3 Advantaged Two-Way Ticket
On some lines, the carriers offer two-way tickets which may be cheaper than two separate tickets for the journey to your destination and back. In case the carrier does not offer this option, two separate tickets for each direction must be bought.
3.4 Search for Two-Way Ticket
After you check the box “include journey BACK” and provide data for the journeys both There and Back, the system first selects and displays the bus or train connections for the journey There. After you choose one bus or train for the journey There by clicking on the “Select” button, the system displays bus or train connections for the journey Back. In case there is an icon with two green arrows
(Two-Way Tariff) next to the bus or train connection, a cheaper two-way ticket can be bought. Similarly, the total price is highlighted too. After you select a bus or train connection for the journey Back (clicking on “Select” button), a dialog window will appear where you can provide the number of tickets in the selected tariff as well as – in case of reserved seating in the particular bus or particular train carriage or – the seating plan of the bus or train carriage. After choosing the tariffs, providing the number of tickets and eventual choosing the seats, the tickets can be actually bought.
Note: Not all carriers offer two-way tickets on their bus or train lines.
3.5 Choosing the Best Bus or Train Connection
After you provide the data on the start and the end of your journey as well as the date of departure, you can continue your reservation or purchase of e-tickets by picking the most suitable bus or train connection. In the field Time of Departure, provide the time from which on you wish the system to look for buses or trains between the starting point of your journey and the destination.
In some cases, many buses or trains will possibly fulfill the given criteria. If such a query is processed in a moment when the AMSBUS system is already rather loaded with e.g. sale operations, there can be a prolonged response time.
3.6 Determining Number of Tickets and Fare Type
You provide the required number of tickets and the fare types in the dialog window which is displayed after the selection of the bus or train. A chart with a first line and a predefined number of passengers (1) and tariff (full fare) is displayed automatically. Here, you can select the number of passengers (the maximum number is 6). In case you would like to choose another tariff (reduced fare) for the selected bus or train, you can do so from the offer provided by the carrier by clicking on the drop-down list. In case you require another definite number of passengers with another type of reduced fare, click on the
icon (Add new line) to the right from the fare price. Here you proceed the same way as in the first line, determining the number of passengers and choosing the type of fare. In case you demand a yet different type of fare for other passengers, you can add new lines again.
After you provide the number of tickets and types of fare, you can (if available) choose seats in the seating plan of the bus or of the train carriage. Then you continue to “Buy” or “Make a Reservation”.
3.7 Booking Tickets
Having provided all required data including the number of tickets and types of fare, you can make your reservation by clicking on the button “Make a Reservation”. To be able to do so, you must be a logged in user. Without the registration, you can only buy e-tickets.
It is necessary to realize that making a reservation does not equal buying an e-ticket and, consequently, agreeing to the transport contract. Making a reservation only means that for a certain period of time, the passenger is guaranteed to buy the ticket if he wants to. Therefore, he is notified on the validity period of the reservation. After this time, the reservation is cancelled and the seat is vacated.
There are five rules to reserve a ticket:
- maximum number of booked seats for one user is 6
- maximum number available seats to book for a specific bus or train is limited to 20 % of its total capacity
- minimum number of vacant seats which must remain free for direct sale after required reservation is performed is 20 % of the total number of the seats.
- maximum validity period of the each reservation is 3 working days
- minimum time before the departure of the bus or train when the bus or train is closed for reservations is 10 hours; for the morning, night and weekend connections it is till 14:00 last working day.
The evaluation of the parameters is performed at the moment of processing the reservation query.
The user is notified about the successful reservation by e-mail. The message also contains a link to the list of AMSBus ticket offices where the booked tickets can be bought.
3.8 Price of the ticket purchased from the reservation
The Reservation can be bought (i.e. turned into a ticket) online in the AMSBus.cz system as an e-ticket by adding the Reservation to your shopping cart and making a cashless transfer via selected payment gateway. When buying reserved ticket through the internet the price is fixed over the validity period of the reservation.
You can purchase reserved tickets in all AMSBus booking offices too; it is enough to provide the ID code of the reservation. You can find a list of such offices including their office hours at http://offices.svt.cz. When buying reserved ticket at any AMSBus booking office, the fee of advance sale office can be added (to the price of reserved ticket).
3.9 Can I Extend the Validity Period of the Reservation?
The validity period of the reservation is set by the regulations of the system AMSBus.cz depending on the moment when it was made, and cannot be extended. By expiration or by cancelation of the reservation the seat becomes available again and the customers which are really interested to buy those seats can purchase them.
3.10 Why Can’t I Pick Up My Tickets As Late As Boarding the Bus?
It is necessary to pay for the tickets during the validity period of the reservation.
3.11 The System Does Not Propose a Particular Bus or Train Although the Line Is Operating!
It is possible that the particular part of the bus or train line you look for does not allow presale or reservation of tickets in the AMSBUS system. Tickets can be booked or bought only for seat reserved buses or trains included in the AMSBUS system.
Buses or trains which enable only temporary reservation (booked tickets must be collected during the reservation period) are marked with an active icon
(amber colored symbol of seat with the letter R).
Buses or trains which enable an e-ticket to be bought (and paid by payment card via internet and printed after you receive them by e-mail) are marked with an active icon
(yellow colored symbol of seat with the letter E).
3.12 Logging Out
You can log off the sale and reservation system AMSBus.cz by clicking on the link “Log out” which is situated in the upper right corner of the screen (under the user name).
